I AM looking forward to the Tour de France starting its second day in the city, but would question the route planning as it leaves the city.
For many it will cause great inconvenience.
The closure of the A1237 outer bypass, and the new Poppleton Bar Park&Ride could have been avoided, with a little more thought.
The race could have been directed from Boroughbridge Road into Low Poppleton Lane and under the bypass, through Poppleton, and back on to the A59 at the Red Lion.
The bypass could have remained open, and the Park&Ride been able to run into York via Wetherby Road and Acomb.
