I HEAR the Government plans to make supermarkets charge 5p for carrier bags to cut down on use of plastic bags.
But unless fresh meat bought is in different-coloured bags, someone could re-use a bag previously used for meat to carry home something like bread.
You don’t wash bread first, so there is a big risk of cross contamination.
How is this scheme going to work?
