THE Electoral Commission should look into possible deliberate confusion that was designed into the York voting forms for the European Elections.
It had no logic. As I remember, the parties were neither alphabetical, nor in some natural order based on voting popularity with the main ones at the top. Strange the UKIP box was right at the bottom of a three part folded form when another European named minority party was right at the top.
This form is the basis of democracy and should in no way be as questionable as it was. No party, by law, should be allowed to have any words or names that bears any similarity to others on the electoral form.
If three part forms are going to be the norm then there should be a spare one to study in the polling station - or see it on a web site in order to give each voter time to consider the information.
