WHAT a wonderful story in the The Press (Friday, May 23) about the violin makers from Germany who have settled in York.
Now imagine what might happen if Ukip gets its way and there is no free movement of labour between the UK and the European Union. A young couple arrive at immigration and when asked why they are in Britain, they reply “We are here to make violins”.
Perhaps Nigel Farage could tell us how they will fare with his proposed ban on EU migration. Will there be a quota for violin repairers?
