York Press: Pitch a lobby Pitch a lobby

SELF-STYLED ‘architect of this parish’ Matthew Laverack’s latest gripe with the council is the requirement for it to ensure provision is made for traveller pitches in the forthcoming Local Plan (Letters, April 25).

My suggestion is that he asks Conservative MP Julian Sturdy, who he endorsed when Mr Sturdy was standing to be the MP for York Outer, to lobby his government if he is unhappy with this government requirement.

Nick Button, Eighth Avenue, Heworth, York.

I suspect the letter-writer is more than capable of thinking for himself. Unlike a number of frequent contributors to the comments section, eh, thislittleoldmarkett

Nick Button should get his facts right.

Mr Laverack merely pointed out that imposing the requirement of traveller site provision on private developers, threatened the viability of those sites, he was not criticising the actual requirement of provision.

I believe Mr Laverack is a York Central constituent, so he did not endorse Julian Sturdy MP.

I suggest that Nick Button quits while he is behind.... ?!!!!

Very probably not, but that is another matter entirely.
