ON MY own admission, I wasn’t born with many of life’s virtues, but the one I have is patience.
I have on more than one occasion just recently had my patience sorely tested by ignorant, selfish motorists on garage forecourts.
They put petrol in their cars, wander leisurely to the cash point, go into the garage, do a weekly shop, then pay for their petrol – leaving me and others waiting like stuffed bananas for them to return to their cars.
The most recent one I encountered came out of the garage, saw someone they knew and had a nice little chat with them.
When I blew my horn to remind them where they were, I was greeted with a one-finger gesture.
Silly me thought it was an apology.
I have since been told different.
