HOPEFULLY a final observation on the Lendal bridge discussions, relating to air pollution.
If one stands on the bridge and looks upstream, there are very few more than a couple of dozen buildings, all set back from the water’s edge.
Looking downstream, high buildings are on both sides.
It would appear, therefore, that due to the natural movement of the air, any vehicle exhaust fumes possibly being a cause of pollution will be dissipated and blown away, thus rendering the air quality on the bridge to be of a fairly high standard.
