HERE we go (Press, April 18): £2 million extra for road and path repairs is the first of the popular schemes that our council will be casting our way to get back in our good books after three years of profligacy and ignoring what the residents wanted.

Of course, with it being unbudgeted, it will be done on borrowed money.

This cynical method of bribing us with our own money may well work come May 2015, and then it will be back to another three years of expensive vanity projects and turning a deaf ear to the public.
