NOW it is that time of year again when blackbirds swoop across the road to distract from their nesting sites, often getting killed, as one can see when driving around.
A little less speed can save many of these lovely song birds. Also try to avoid lighting bonfires at this time of spring as the smoke can drift into hedges on other nesting bird places causing suffocation of young nestlings.
A little thought and care will go along way to help our garden birds that are in decline.
