THERE have been letters written in before, but please can someone give me just one benefit from the alterations where the A166 Stamford Bridge Road meets Grimston Bar roundabout?

The right-hand lane is always queued right back since it now feeds the three lanes ahead to Leeds, York and Scarborough The left-hand lane is barely used for the left-turn purpose for which it is now signed, ie Hull, but more often than not by those using the incorrect lane to jump the traffic and cut across into one of the three lanes ahead.

Virtually every morning as I use this junction, I find I have someone on my left just about touching wing mirrors with me as we both head for the middle lane ahead. The filter lane as you come off the roundabout towards the 1079 is a total waste of time, along with the unnecessary labour involved and the ridiculous costs to make such confusing alterations. It wasn’t broke, so why was it ‘fixed’?
