IN REPLY to Geoff Robb’s letter of March 29 regarding the air pollution in the city centre, it seems the Chinese could be regarded as an authority on pollution, therefore it was a bit worrying on Mother’s Day when I witnessed a party of Chinese tourists heading towards Lendal Bridge and two of the party were wearing face masks.
Perhaps this Labour council wants to leave a legacy for us to remember them by. Why not a simple fountain. There has got to be room for one in Parliament Street somewhere.
