On the verge

PERHAPS it is about time for the powers-that-be to start enforcing the law against parking vehicles on grass verges. Apart from being illegal, such parking is highly inconsiderate.

Many people, myself included, do not rely on the infrequent grass cutting by the council: they do this themselves. I personally cut the grass outside eight properties. I do this out of a sense of pride and neighbourliness, not to watch the verges end up looking like farm tracks.

Be careful - if you complain "they" will put ugly little concrete bollards outside your home!

It seems to be a good excuse tor why some folks need huge off road vehicles with cleated tyres like a tractor - "I have to park on the grass verge because I can't park on the road which isn't wide enough for my car".

In fairness, the council have tried to address this intermittently, but some people are just pig ignorant and thoughtless when it comes to where they leave their gas guzzlers.

Equally at fault - oversized bus and delivery wagons trying to get part the badly on-road parked cars!

In some spots its getting ridiculous. I live on a cul-de-sac and the whole path is covered by cars throughout its length you have to walk in the road. Yet these same people who park like that objected to someones planning request because it wouldnt be safe for their kids to play in the street. The hypocrisy!

People are getting so inconsiderate when it comes to parking, i even remarked to mrs tth that had i won the 108 million i would have gladly blown a couple of mill on smashing a big army truck or something into all the people parked really badly (ignorantly). The satisfaction would be amazing :-)

Apparently a First bus driver got into trouble because they smacked a load of wing mirros off on "the number 6 route"... hands up who reckons this was down Bur Dyke Avenue!
