Eventual apology

York Press: Eventual apology Eventual apology

AFTER days of silence, Patricia Hewitt eventually apologised for how in the 1970s the Council for Civil Liberties allowed itself to be linked to a paedophile organisation seeking to lower the age of consent to ten and to legalise incest.

We still await an apology from Labour’s deputy leader, Harriet Harman, over her role in this affair. Her position is increasingly untenable, but what is even more bewildering is the backing she has received from Labour leader Ed Miliband.

The Mail ran with this story, but soon lost interest when they realised that it might hurt the Tories more than Labour. Like the letter writer, they wanted to confine themselves to Labour MP's

First MP Tom Watson raised the possibility of historic allegations of paedophilia by an aide in no. 10 at the time of Mrs Thatcher.

Then police started questioning Mr Camerons aide and close friend Patrick Rock has been closely involved in drawing up Government policy on internet **** filters.
Poliice have entered 10 Downing Street and examined the hard drives on computers used by Mr. Rock. We are still awaiting further developments..

Then there is the Catholic church, which seems to have been harbouring child abusers for years, and even relocating known paedophile priests to new parishes. The Church has been implicated in over 4000 cases of child abuse in America alone

And of course the great friendship between Mrs Thatcher and Jimmy Saville, which surely must have contributed to the way no-one looked properly at what he was doing.
