WITH reference to the report in The Press (February 21) regarding the council giving planning permission for 1,200 new city homes to be given the go-ahead as planned, this does not include student accommodation.

I think the planning committee of this lovely old city no longer has a soul – the place is becoming more like Disneyland every day.

I love my city, was born and bred here, also know we need the money and visitors to come to survive in the 21st century, but we need a good bus station with links to other villages and city transport train links.

Coun James Alexander comments that York is somewhere developers can do business. No wonder he has been seen to be scribbling on bits of paper in council meetings.
