THE disruptive Kevin Pietersen has rightly been sacked, but this should have happened in August 2012 after his traitorous exchanges with our South African opponents, instead of being indulged by the selectors.
When the media dubbed him KP, this was the trigger for this egomaniac to pursue self interests rather then pull for the team.
Let’s hope English cricket now appoints an Englishman as their new coach. National sides in every sport should always have a manager from that country.
How can someone running a national team not know their national anthem, and in some cases hardly speak a word of the language?
The one good thing about this whole mess was that on my Father’s Day gift of a day at Lords in August, 2012, I saw Jonny Bairstow, replacing Pietersen, score his maiden Test half-century.
