THE Press recently printed a letter of mine outlining that Government funding was paying for wi-fi on buses and not council tax (Fritter ye not, Letters, January 25). However, in editing my letter The Press added errors.

The version in the newspaper said that: “I want to put his mind at rest in saying no taxpayers’ money is being spent on this project. The Government is paying for all of this.” What I submitted was: “I want to put his and other minds at rest in saying no council taxpayers’ money is being spent on this project. The Conservative Liberal Democrat Government is paying for all of this.”

I understand the need to edit letters but the meaning should remain the same. Government funding comes from all of our taxes and therefore it would be incorrect to say no taxpayers’ money is paying for this wi-fi initiative.

I have tweeted and commented on your website with the full and correct version of my letter as submitted.
