Disguised humour?

DAVID QUARRIE’S letter of January 2 is a misguided attempt at humour; isn’t it? Or does he genuinely believe that Afghanistan, where a sizeable majority of the population is seeking to end US occupation, is more corrupt than this country where a majority of the population isn’t?

The label ‘Taliban’ is applied by the western news media to every single individual and diverse political or religious group to hide the fact that the USA and all their lackeys are suppressing a popular struggle for liberation.

For the same reason, the name Al Qaeda was pulled out of a hat and those with suitably flaccid minds repeat it every time the USA is criticised for a drone strike or imprisonment without charge in Guantanamo concentration camp.
