REPUTEDLY the Bible is the best seller of all time, even after Gone With The Wind.
Having viewed the first episode of the Bible drama on Channel 5, I still maintain the film Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston as Moses, who I was fortunate to meet whilst on duty at the National Railway Museum, commands centre stage.
However, the opening sequences of this production including Noah’s Ark with its selection of creatures, from animals to birds, omits in its manifesto a selection of the human race, that is, inhabitants from across the globe of all races, colour and creed.
Having been confirmed Church of England from an early age, it is noticeable the Bible contains constant warring fractions, bloodshed, slavery, surrogacy and sectarianism, including land acquired by dubious means which still exist today.
