I WISH to thank most sincerely our many supporters and friends who continue to support St Leonard’s as their local hospice.

Our care is now reaching more patients than ever before through Hospice@ Home, the in-patient unit and day care. Without the huge support of individuals, schools and businesses we would not be able to provide that special care to patients and their families.

St Leonard’s backbone is an ‘army’ of 500 volunteers who give of their time in our shops, with patient care with fundraising, in our gardens and in many other roles. I thank them all for their unstinting commitment.

Finally, St Leonard’s wishes our supporters, friends and local community a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

Martyn Callaghan, Chief Executive, St Leonard’s Hospice, York.

• THE Gillygate Friends group of Martin House would like to thank all the people who have supported us throughout the year.

With the street collections and other events, we have been able to give a cheque for £7,400 to Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People.

Thank you for your support.

E Cooper, Windmill Way, Haxby, York.
