EVERY so often complaints appear on the letters page about the lack of seating in Parliament Street.
The answer to the issue is staring us in the face: why don’t we install square seating around every tree, similar to the benches in St Helen’s Square? This would solve the problem of constantly having to remove the seats to free space for markets/festivals etc, saving time and money.
It would also help to hide from view the litter/cigarette ends between the metal bars under the trees as the seating would prevent, or at least make it more difficult to dispose of the rubbish. It would also provide plenty of spare seating for other streets in the city centre.
Just a thought for sharing.
