Rough roads a hazard
SO the council now has decided that it is okay to repave the area in King’s Square, even though the paving slabs were relaid in 1976 and have years of use in them.
Why doesn’t the council try driving around the roads in York and the outskirts of the city? They could then see the appalling condition they are in and in need if desperate repair.
It’s all well and good making the centre of the city attractive to tourists but what about the residents who have to drive in uneven and pothole-peppered roads? These are a hazard to all road users. Or maybe these are not important to the council?
S McClaren, Boroughbridge Road, York.
