Danger for cycles
AFTER reading Paul Hepworth’s letter in The Press (September 26), it appears he never travelled that route at Water End when it was altered to one lane.
I have travelled that route for quite a few years, two or three times a week.
When it was altered to one lane, on many occasions I have witnessed cyclists having to take evasive action as they used to go straight ahead just to see the front vehicle turning left, on two occasions making contact which makes it very dangerous for the cyclist.
In my opinion the city engineers got it wrong.
Now that two lanes have been re-instated at least cyclists know that vehicles in the left hand lane are going to turn left.
