Lovely on that day
OH dear, Mike Usherwood you are in danger of losing your anti-cycling crown to D McTernan (Letters, September 18).
It was lovely in York on that day; no noise, clean air, no drivers horning each other because they were being held up for a few seconds.
There are too many cars in the city centre and I bet 50 per cent needn’t take their loved one (car).
Also AP Cox, cyclists don’t pay road tax because they don’t make pot holes. You motorists do, then complain, so you should pay for it. Typically of motorists, you say traffic flows easier when lights are not on, but you don’t seem bothered that pedestrians won’t be able to cross.
Lendal Bridge is lovely now, cyclists can go on the inside without finding a jealous motorists’ wheel blocking the way. Too many lazy people, I’m afraid.
Kate Gregory, Hamilton Drive, York.
