Start with rubbish
IN response to the Reinvigorate York scheme, I would have thought it would be better to begin at ground level, with all rubbish.
Has any member of City of York Council visited what we are told is soon to be a new hotel? I’m talking about the beautiful building opposite York Theatre Royal. This is now quite offensive as it is gradually filling up with rubbish of all kinds.
The pigeons are quite pleased, as they don’t need a key to open the gate and walk down the steps to the kitchens of long ago.
Goodness knows what visitors to York think.
I know how I feel – disgusted. Are we waiting till the mess will fill up a ship?
I believe it’s quite a lot of money to hire a skip, whereas a man with a broom and shovel would do it as part of his round.
No, I’m not suggesting that as a solution. Maybe a large rubbish bin might help. It’s worth a try.
