JUST back from Berlin, travelling by train. I was very impressed with tourist attraction explanations.
The Wall Museum had translations in four languages. This helped me to learn and compare words and phrases used. Many museums had free, or pay for, audio guides, with options for which room you were in or a commentary that was triggered by where you were positioned. There was even an English-speaking guide tour at the Film Park.
I wonder if York attractions could do even more for visitors with limited English, with dual language explanations/subtitles/ menus/guides, etc. York aspires to raise our status as a world-class city. More language options would mean even more economic prosperity as visitors would stay longer and see more.
