Going the wrong way
WITH the roadworks on the Green Dykes Lane and Hull Road closing the road for several weeks, I have had to change my route to work.
I now have to approach Hull Road from Garrow Hill Avenue. This is a one-way street and I turn right at the bottom on to the Hull Road.
I position my car at the junction correctly on the right-hand side. Most mornings I see people in the left-hand lane indicating right, including taxi drivers.
One morning I was even let out by a driver on Hull Road who then indicated left and drove up the one-way street the wrong way. The markings on the road are a bit faded, but the signs are not.
I wonder how long it will be before there is an accident with a car or van in the wrong lane turning right into a car in the correct right-hand lane.
Please read the road (and the Highway Code).
