A pint in York is just too expensive
11:10am Tuesday 12th March 2013 in Letters By Reader's letter
I AM disgusted upset with the increasing price of a pint in York city-centre pubs. I have been a drinker for many years now but the way it’s going I am going to be forced to enjoy a tipple indoors.
Last week I asked for a pint of Stella in a historic pub and my hair fell almost fell out when I was charged £4.02. The local residents of York are getting charged tourists rates.
As many of your readers will know, I am a big name in the local snooker and pool scene and when the UK Championships return to York later this year, personal friends of mine such as John Virgo and Stephen Hendry will not be happy when they pop into town for a pint in between games.
Simon Newby, Beckfield Place, York.

Never heard of you buddy thankfully, I'll bet the City Centre pubs are reeling at the thought of you staying home.
