ON SATURDAY last, a friend from Leeds came with me to Bootham Crescent for the Bradford match.

He was told that though I, a season-ticket holder, could go in, he could not buy a ticket as the ground was completely full. My friend unselfishly insisted that I should still watch the match, yet I found myself at the kick-off, counting untaken seats.

Across my field of vision – half of one section of the Pop stand and half the next section across the aisle – I found 42 untaken. I could also see a block of perhaps 80 vacant in the main stand.

York City should have on screen exact, up-to-date information of how many seats have gone. Instead they rely on a plain wrong blanket claim that there were none left.

Visitors, keen to buy, were turned away unhappy and their money with them. Not clever, not good management.

This game was advertised weeks in advance that this game was ALL TICKET (Must by ticket in advance) and was not a sell out. As a season ticket holder you should have known this .

Game all ticket for security reasons, people were told no tickets on the day numerous times. I have no idea how a season ticket holder could have missed this information - all over the media and announced often enough at matches on the PA system.

Sometimes mate, life's mishaps are your own fault!

The game was all ticket due to police advice! Bradford had sold their allocation, so the visitors you mention who were turned away, could easily have been Bradford fans. I am also a season ticket holder and witnessed a number of people trying to pay at the gate. It was possible to ring up in advance, pay with plastic and collect your tickets on the day. Sorry, but not a case of bad management by the club!

Still a ludicrous rule i think. Tickets ought to have been available. I was at the home and away Bradford match and found Bantam fans and officials friendly and helpful both at Valley Parade and in the pub in York on Saturday night.
