Meating a need

THE horse burger, etc, scandal could be linked to the continued quest by supermarkets and their suppliers to find the cheapest source of meat, for example in Romania, Poland, to seek cheap beef and other meats. These places are known to have weak controls.

Britain is renowned for its quality home-grown meat which is available from local butchers.

The British farmers have to compete for the needs of supermarkets who want cheap supplies to enhance profits.

It must be time for the provisions buyers for supermarkets to purchase British home beef and other meats where you get what you pay for.

Might the next scandal be when strange vegetable matter is found in vegetarian ready-made meals?

Considering horse meat has only been found in cheap burgers, this would suggest horse meat is cheaper that cow meat. Therefore, seeing the UK has a rough ratio of 3 cows to 1 horse, that perhaps cow meat is overpriced in the shops/suppliers to burger processors??

Please explain 'strange vegetable matter'.

As a vegan I will quite happily eat any vegetable matter that is not poisonous.

Would the 'natural meat eaters' say the same about any meat matter?
