Leaflets instead?

IN The Press on Thursday, January 24, Dave Merrett asks residents to attend a public meeting about the changes to the local buses.

This will be held at York Explore Café in Museum Street on Friday, February 8 between 10am and 12.30pm, and a Q&A session will follow between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

What about the people who use the No 15 to get to work? We can’t take time off work to go to the meeting.

Wouldn’t it be easier to put leaflets through the doors of residents that are affected and give us all a chance to have our say? We don’t all have the internet or buy The Press every day.

Advertising the meeting on bus shelters on the affected routes would help or give the residents what we want and leave us with a bus we can rely on.

Mrs D Ankers, Brunswick Street, York.

You miss the point, Mrs A - "Consultation exercise - box ticked, now move on and do what we were going to do anyway, but with just enough tinkering to serve as a fig-leaf"
