HAVING read Liz Edge’s latest letter of January 23 on the lack of controls on rents charged in the private area, I agree that she has a valid point to make.
Especially when one reads the latest statistics showing that York’s property rentals are second in price only to London.
However, in the event of this mushrooming problem being put formally to Westminster for debate, just how many MPs (on both sides of the House) would be in a position to vote before registering their interest and subsequently their opposition?
