What’s it all spent on?

IT APPEARS many citizens have very little confidence in those up in their ivory towers or whatever they think they are in.

Do the hierarchy realise people want to think they are trustworthy?

Many people would like a breakdown of what the council tax is spent on, so let us have a breakdown for all to see, to the last penny please.

So many people working in public sector posts, such as hospitals and care, always work using their best abilities over and above whatever confronts them.

So how about council officials making the same efforts?

Many people would also wish to know who funded the trip to France as this is not the first trip abroad is it?

Why are you writing to The Press when you could be submitting a FOI request to the council?

The trip made by Coun Alexander and Kersten England to Paris (outward flight) and accommodation was paid for by the Council using tax-payers money. The return flight was paid for by Welcome to Yorkshire.

The two of them were invited to fly out with WTY on the Thursday morning, but, they chose to go the day before at COYC's expense. the excuse was that they ahd a meeting to attend. No evidence of this meeting has been provided, but there was a photo taken of the two holding the 'Back Le Bid' poster in front of the Arc de Triomphe.

It seems like the real reason they went the day before was to have a night out on the town at our expense.

This needs to be thoroughly investigated, and if they have not a valid reason for going a day earlier, then they should be made to repay the costs which Coun Alexander has said was £400/each.

Isn't there usually a basic breakdown for council tax? Does the author mean something else, or is wanting the shoebox holding all the receipts for every expenditure about £5?

If Alexander and England have used council taxpayers money to go on a jolley then they pay it back.

If the trip was funded and with places reserved for them why did they go a day earlier ? This is a blatant disregard for taxpayers and a display of sheer arrogance by the pair of them.
Its an absolute disgrace.

PAY THE MONEY BACK or give us a VALID reason why you did this.
