I WAS truly amazed when I spotted the snowy River Wharfe picture in The Press of January 21. What a coincidence – spooky almost.
I was a passenger crossing the bridge in Tadcaster and on looking right towards St Mary’s Church and the Viaduct in the background so wished I could have stopped and taken a photo of the beautiful picture-postcard winter scene.
Then, on opening The Press there it was – the very picture I had witnessed, captured for eternity.
Thank you for choosing this picture and an even bigger thank-you to Melvyn Pratt, the photographer. My wish had come true.
