I RECENTLY wrote to City of York Council to ask why, after many months, the lighting on Millennium Bridge is still not working.
The reply (reproduced below) is illuminating. Should be done by next week then?
“Thank you for your email. I have reported the street lights for you. Our current contract states that: Urgent faults will be attended and either repaired or made safe within two hours; normal faults will be attended and either repaired or made safe within four working days.
“When a defect has been made safe and if further works are required, we aim to have the repairs carried out within 20 working days.
“When there is an issue with the electricity supply, and we have to work with a utility company to resolve, the national standard allows 35 working days for the repairs to be completed.”
