Tour will just mean misery for drivers
10:06am Thursday 27th December 2012 in Letters By Readers' letters
The Tour De France is coming to Yorkshire. Good news for some but bad news for others. Once again motorists will have to suffer because of cyclists.
It has been announced that money allocated for urgent road repairs will be diverted to upgrade the route of the race to the standards required, despite the fact that other roads are in a worse state.
If this is the case can I implore Coun James Alexander to make sure that the route goes through his ward, which is Holgate, particularly Hamilton Drive, which currently has more pot holesthan even road surface.

• Any chance of having the Tour de France diverted down Windmill Way, Haxby? It might get this road re-surfaced. It has just been patched in places over the years.
