COMING home on the bus the other day and going past the “old” Nestlé factory in Haxby Road reminded me of your recent piece about Nestlé setting the old clocks to just “after eight o’clock” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of After Eight mints.
What a pity that the clocks are not still working – but more so, the state of the unkempt jungle that has been allowed to grow up around them.
It’s very sad to see and I would suggest, it’s a slap in the face of all those people who used to walk through these now locked gates to work there to produce After Eights and many other great products.
