My garden backs on to the Foss and is low lying so we expect to be flooded once or even twice a year.

However, the times it is flooding now are far too many. We have lived here for more than 50 years and in that time very little has been done to clean the river at this end.

The depth of the river was at least ten foot; now you can wade across it and the so-called flood bank made in the 1960s is now at the bottom of the river along with the posts put up to support it.

The Foss is a lovely little river with plenty of wildlife depending upon it, so how about getting it properly dredged the full length and not just at the York end?
