I FELL in Easingwold Market Place and was rescued by a couple from Linton-on-Ouse who went the extra mile and took me in their car to the local doctors’ surgery, waiting until I had received treatment and then returning me to my place of work.

If they read this, thank you so much for your kindness.

The Christmas spirit of goodwill is alive and well in North Yorkshire – Happy Christmas.

• I WOULD like to thank the young lady who came to the aid of my husband on Wednesday, December 5.

He was boarding a No 1 bus from the Theatre Royal and was half way up the stairs when the driver pulled away. My husband of 76 years was thrown down the stairs. A young woman came to his aid and she called an ambulance.

All we know of this kind young woman is that her name is Christine.

We would both like to thank her and to let her know that he suffered only shock, cuts and bruises.

Thank you so much Christine – you are a true Samaritan.

• I WOULD like to thank most sincerely paramedic Tim O’Malley and his two colleagues from Leeds for the most professional care I received from them after my most pathetic attempt I made at a backward somersault on the icy pavements on December 1. Much appreciated.
