Royal pregnancy announcement just too early...

The early announcement of the Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancy, due to the admission to hospital with severe morning sickness, has sparked a media frenzy.

Reporters and paparazzi gathered outside the hospital in their usual hordes.

Her husband, visiting Kate, looked a little unhappy when negotiating all the attention. The couple would probably have preferred an official announcement later on in the pregnancy.

It could be said the media folk are skating near the edge of the guidelines suggested in the Leveson report. So no change yet then.

Buda's right.

The royals encourage and depend on the media to whip up the frenzied adulation that they thrive on, so have no room whatever to complain.

Get rid of the parasites, and spend the money on saving necessary jobs and services.

Royals bring in more revenue than they cost. Whether you are a royalist or the most ardent republican, that remains a fact. Want rid of them by all means, but not on financial grounds.

They'd still bring in money when their gone. Paris has more tourism than London. The French did the right thing years ago.
