STUART WILSON’S thoughts on York’s car-free zones (Letters, November 29) struck a chord with me.
It is very frustrating and dangerous these days trying to walk around York’s busy streets. One false move and you can be nearly mowed down by vans, cars or errant cyclists. The speed and arrogance of these drivers shows the total lack of consideration they have for others.
Things can only get worse because without an active police presence now in York –perhaps due to the cutbacks, law and order appears to have sadly disappeared.
