ONCE again we have an example of our Labour-controlled council not following normal procedures by riding roughshod over accepted practices and making decisions in private (The Press, November 20).
Coun Dave Merrett approved various steps, in private, on how £6 million will be spent on transport transformation.
Such actions as this were why Lynn Jeffries resigned her seat on the council in the first place. This further justifies her decision. Will this council never learn?
I would not be surprised if, when the new council offices open and the general public are allowed to view, that we find a debating and decision chamber with a sign on the door which reads “Labour only”.
