THE Press of November 15 reported on council tax owed to City of York Council to the tune of £3.7 million.
This is an absolute disgrace. This will mean council tax will be set at 2.9 per cent for the financial year of 2013/2014. Why are the council not chasing these people up who have not paid their council tax?
There is something wrong when this is allowed to happen.
The council statistics show that 8,598 residents were in arrears on their council tax, so again those of us who have paid their rates have to suffer with the 2.9 per cent rise in council tax for the period.
