Talking turkey
12:53pm Friday 16th November 2012 in Letters By Reader's letter
I READ Julian Sturdy’s column this week and noted his obvious enthusiasm for the Government’s so-called improvements to education, the police, the NHS and Welfare.
I do hope his enthusiasm turns out to be justified in two years time and is not greeted with the same kind of enthusiasm turkeys have towards the arrival of Christmas.

It's probably a bit harder for politicians to take difficult long term decisions to deal with climate change.
In the future, if their climate change gamble goes pear-shaped,and low lying areas like York will be the first to find out, we (and our children) will remember who chased after a few cheap votes.

York has flooded for as long as I can remember, take a look at the levels recorded in the Kings Arms. Building in flood plains and lack of drainage maintenance do not help. Rainwater always evens out, only last Spring we were supposed to be having a drought! A wind farm will cost a fortune (£3 Million per unit) look unsightly and produce little. Why?

I should be even more concerned at Philip Hammond trying to destroy our armed forces. Hammond has no military experience what so ever!
