IT IS really enjoyable to watch the BBC squirming around in one crisis after another.

This huge left-wing organisation has just lost its director general after only 54 days in his new job, and rightly so. The whole business about Newsnight was a disaster.

During the reign of the former boss Mark Thompson, the BBC was rightly told to cut its huge costs, but, like so many businesses, it got rid of many at the coal face, not senior management, and left a CEO looking after a huge number of staff, trying to cover world news in so many different areas – an impossible task.

Chairman Lord Patton will have many sleepless nights ahead. Trust has all but gone.
