This is why I hate war

I FULLY agree with Julian Cole’s column “We still send our young off to die” (The Press, October 19).
These politicians who get agnostic and send people to war should be made to watch some of the horrendous newsreels which I’ve seen, such as children crying over the deaths of members of their family in Vietnam, Lebanon and Northern Ireland and large numbers of people without limbs like in Sierra Leone.
These are the sort of things that have made me hate war.
To me politicians who start wars should be charged with murder and, considering children in other countries are becoming more involved, child abuse – even if it is in another country.
If I sound obsessive or fanatical, I am. I fanatically hate war and I wish there were more like me.

Next time jehovah's Witnesses call at your door, don't say as I have done, "I'm not interested" they have the same ideals as you speak of in the letter.
In Germany under the Nazis, they were sent to concentation camps, many of them dying for not going to kill others, in this country, they were locked up in prison, some in Richmond Castle, for doing nthe same thing, not wanting to kill others.
And we chase them every saturday morning
