2) Haxby Road level crossing in New Earswick in August 1968
3) The newly-launched pelican crossing in New Earswick in September 1982. Local pensioners were unhappy using it as they said it did not give them enough time to cross, and they did not want to stop traffic.
4) Ryedale Council chairman Daphne Stead with children from the Village Folk Choir in New Earswick, and New Earswick Primary School pupils, before their trip to Sweden in April 1988.
5) Volunteers brave icy New Earswick pond in January 1995 to protect wildlife, with willow screens to shelter wildfowl.
