A SERIES of walks retracing Richard III’s steps around York is being organised this spring.
John Oxley, City of York Council’s archaeologist, is leading the free walks, which are open to up to 25 members of the public and have been devised in response to public interest following the identification of the monarch’s remains under a Leicester car park.
The tours, which will last approximately 90 minutes and start at 6pm, take place on Wednesday, March 12, when people will meet at Micklegate Bar and finish at York Minster; on Wednesday, March 19, meeting at the Mansion House, St Helen’s Square and finishing in Fossgate and on Wednesday, March 26, meeting at the West Door of the Minster and finishing in Lendal.
