Our look at lost York workplaces takes us to the British Sugar site off Poppleton Road.
It is 90 years this year since the Second Anglo-Scottish Beet Sugar Corporation opened the factory in Poppleton. And it's ten years this summer since its closure was announced.
The factory's final workers clocked off in 2007 and the factory was demolished in 2008. Today, the site is awaiting redevelopment.
These photos show the factory through the ages, and many of the people who worked there.
