9 strange but striking old York photos - a roads & ruins mix

This selection shows 9 old York photographs that did not fit naturally into any of our other galleries - showing a selection of dramatic scenes that you will probably never see again. The first six pictures show York roads either under construction or before major upgrades, and the final three show the archaeological dig off Aldwark in 1974.
