1) 2 July 1970 - A section of disused railway between Huntington and New Earswick. There were moves to develop it into a new link road, which duly happened. The road opened in March 1976.
2) 6 March 1980 - The eponymous sycamore trees in Sycamore Avenue, New Earswick. They had been there more than 60 years but twelve had been condemned as "extremely dangerous" and were to be felled within days.
3) 31 May 1994 - New Earswick Primary School

5) 1973 - New Earswick Folk Hall
6) 8 October 1970 - Poplar Grove in New Earswick. There was controversy over new development plans that would see some residents lose garden space.
7) Undated - New Earswick swimming pool
8) March 1979 - New Earswick Folk Hall
